Liberty Village, the emerging master-planned community that’s taking shape on 45 acres just north of the Canadian National Exhibition grounds, has ambitions as giddy as a Ferris wheel ride. Condo shoppers are urged to seize “the freedom of Liberty” in the project’s latest marketing video.

Dan Menchions, whose interior design firm was engaged to do the model suites for Liberty Towers, as well as the presentation centre for the whole village at the Williams building, recalls what the area was like when he and partner Keith Rushbrook opened II BY IV DESIGN in a restored factory there 13 years ago.
